What is it?
Dance fitness is a type of group exercise class that incorporates some or many forms of dance. It’s a full body aerobic workout, divided into different tracks that provide peaks and troughs of intensity. The overall intensity of a class varies depending on the style you’re doing.
Dance fitness classes offer a relaxed environment where you can really let your inhibitions go, get the results you want, learn some sassy moves and meet some great people along the way.
Why is it good for me?
It’s simple really; taking part in dance fitness regularly will increase your fitness, transform your body, boost your confidence, ease stress and even means you’re prepared for the dance floor on a Saturday night.
Whether you’re hoping to lose weight or tone up (or even if you just get bored of doing the same thing too much), you’ll get the results you want faster by keeping your body challenged and always guessing. Mix up your regime by doing a few different classes, the more styles you do the more you keep your body on its toes!
How much does it cost?
You can usually pay as you go from around £5 per class and many teachers offer loyalty schemes such as your 10th class free.
If you are taking part in your local gym or leisure centre ask them about their membership deals, these are generally better value for money if you are planning to attend 2 or more classes a week or want to go for a swim or a gym too.
You can get free dance workouts to do at home from the exercise move dance campaign. All you need to do is #JoinTheMovement and keep an eye out for Workout Wednesdays.
What equipment do I need?
Just some trainers that fit and support you well and comfortable clothing you can move in.
