Orienteering

Orienteering is an adventurous outdoor sport, providing a workout for the body and the mind.

The aim of the game is to find points marked on a map and choose the best route to complete the course in the fastest time.

It can take place anywhere, so you might find yourself in the woods, open countryside, parks or college/university campuses.

Why is it good for me?

Orienteering is a great cardiovascular workout which will help to improve your stamina, navigation and teamwork skills.

How much does it cost?

Costs vary. A local event might cost from £1 – £5.

What equipment do I need?

Comfortable clothes, layers and waterproofs if it’s cold or raining, and trainers you can run in. Even if you don’t love running, you’ll soon pick up the pace to stop the other team from winning!
