Studio You x Nike expands support for girls in PE

9th September 2026

Building on the success of the partnership's first year, Studio You has launched three new lessons to help more girls find enjoyable ways to get active.

Today we’re excited to support the launch of three brand-new Studio You x Nike lessons as the partnership continues its mission to help girls feel more confident being active and taking part in PE.

Launching for the new school year on the Nike hub on the Studio You platform, the new lessons – in dance, yoga and fitness – have been created with girls aged 11-16 in mind.

Studio You is a free online PE platform, developed with the team behind This Girl Can and We. Social Impact, providing curriculum-linked video lessons and teacher resources that help more girls enjoy being active.

The new lessons build on the success of the first year of the Studio You partnership with Nike, which launched in April 2025

As with all previous content on the hub, the videos aim to make PE feel more welcoming, inclusive and enjoyable, helping every girl discover ways to move that work for them.

"Every girl deserves to feel comfortable, confident and supported when they're being active," said Dani Ward, our senior campaign activation manager.

"These lessons were created because girls told us they wanted PE experiences that feel more fun, inclusive, and less about being perfect.

"Our message to girls is: whether you're already active or still working out what kind of movement you enjoy, Studio You is here for you.

"We hope these new lessons help more girls discover activities they love, build confidence at their own pace and realise that being active can be something that feels good."

The new sessions are longer than the previous 'bitesize’ Studio You x Nike content from 2025, taking girls through a complete progressive lesson from warm-up to cool-down.

Along the way, Nike Trainers will introduce new skills, provide opportunities to practise and encourage participants to progress at their own pace.

Importantly, there isn't one ‘right’ way to take part. Each 20 to 30-minute lesson includes different intensity levels and adaptations, led by supporting trainers, so girls can choose what intensity level feels right for them today, giving them autonomy in movement.

We know that PE doesn't always feel positive for every girl, and that confidence doesn't appear overnight.

That's why we’ve supported Studio You and Nike to design these lessons to help girls build skills gradually, feel comfortable joining in and discover activities they genuinely enjoy.

Building on what's working

Girls who took part in the first release of Nike lessons in 2025 said they helped them feel less stressed, more included and more comfortable taking part in PE. They also told us they valued activities that helped them grow in confidence over time.

And because girls' voices are at the heart of Studio You, the new content has been shaped by feedback from girls and teachers about what makes PE feel better.

Dance and yoga are among the most popular activities on the platform, while girls told us they wanted more opportunities to try creative, enjoyable movement in PE.

97% of girls agree the Nike lessons help them to feel more included in PE.

95% of girls agree the Nike lessons include a range of activities that make them feel more comfortable taking part in PE.

95% of teachers agree students enjoy PE more with the Nike lessons.

97% of teachers agree the Nike lessons are inclusive and accessible.

A PE teacher who took part in the evaluation of last year's Nike content told us: "[Students] are having fun, and that’s something that you don’t often see with competitive activities. They’ve definitely been participating more, and that’s a good sign."

Today, Studio You is used by around 44,000 girls across England every week and more than 72% of secondary schools have registered on the platform, which was developed with more than £2 million of National Lottery funding from Sport England.

Together, Studio You and Nike are working towards a simple goal: helping more girls feel like they belong in PE and supporting every girl to find what moves them.
