Two of our partnerships have been recognised with awards at the Marketing Society Awards and the Active Pregnancy Foundation Awards ceremonies.
Our ‘Make Your Comeback’ partnership with Strava won the successful and effective partnership gong at the Marketing Society Awards, while our Active Mums Start With You programme took home the campaign award at the Active Pregnancy Foundation Awards, last week.
This year marked the 38th Marketing Society Awards, while in contrast it was the first ever Active Pregnancy Foundation awards, with This Girl Can supporting the event by sponsoring one of the categories.
And our strategic lead for campaigns, Kate Peers, was delighted to see This Girl Can, which is funded by The National Lottery, recognised for its continued work to help women and girls get active in ways that work for them.
“We’re incredibly proud to have won these two awards," she said.
“This Girl Can has such a strong message about women and girls feeling empowered to be active.
"To be partnering with Strava, who share this vision for their vast user base and to be recognised as the most successful and effective partnership for creating ‘Make Your Comeback’ is really rewarding.
“We’re also very passionate about being able to help women get or stay active throughout pregnancy and early motherhood, a time in life that evidence shows makes being active more of a challenge for many women.
“That’s why we’re proud not only to have won the campaign award but to also be a part of the awards themselves, by sponsoring the people category and celebrating women who lead by example and inspire others.”
The Make Your Comeback partnership focused on those women who had taken a step back from activity in recent times, but who were getting ready to make their comeback.
Creating the This Girl Can club on Strava meant there's a safe space for women to lift each other up and shine a light on the moments of joy that come with being active.
While Active Mums Start With You is a programme aimed at enabling GPs, midwives and health visitors to active engage expectant and new mothers in conversations about the benefits of activity, as well as offering guidance through a variety of resources.
We know that 64% of expectant or new mothers have experienced nervousness of anxiety related to physical activity, so the programme hoped to ease that anxiety by helping healthcare professionals talk women through safe ways to be active.
