In competitive diving, the aim is to execute a series of somersaults and twists, before entering the water with as little splash as possible. Points are then awarded by a panel of judges.

Why is it good for me?

Diving can help to improve agility, coordination and balance, as well as your confidence in water. Plus, leaping from a 10m high platform will give you an adrenaline rush and sense of achievement like no other.

How much does it cost?

The cost of diving lessons will vary from club to club, but will probably cost £5-£10 per session.

What equipment do I need?

  • A swimming costume
  • Diving practice often starts with crash mats and trampolines, in order to develop confidence. For this you will need normal sportswear.
