Ice skating

Glide across the ice, and learn to turn, spin and jump like a pro!

There are loads of types of ice skating to try including:

Figure Skating – Artistry, freedom and creativity. An elegant and expressive discipline which can be performed solo, in pairs, or in a couple.

Synchronized Skating – Teamwork, coordination and dependability. A group performance encompassing the magic of synchronization on the ice to music.

Short Track Speed Skating– Fast, exhilarating and precise. A small group of skaters race around a track over varying distances looking to be first across the line.

Speed Skating (Long Track) – Endurance, motivation and calculation. Two skaters compete in a time trial around the ice on a larger rink than in short track and over greater distances

Why is it good for me?

Ice skating helps to improve strength, flexibility and balance as well as being great for your cardiovascular system.

How much does it cost?

Cost varies from rink to rink, contact your local ice rink to find out.

What equipment do I need?

To get started, you just need some warm clothing. Ice skates can be hired at the ice rink.
